Certified Reference Materials

Certified Reference materials

In environmental chemical analysis, wherever possible, Standard Methods should be adopted. These are methods have been tested and evaluated by a recognized authority and the limits of the methodology are well documented (e.g. APHA, USEPA, ASTM etc).

However accuracy, precision, repeatability, reproducibility, recovery and robustness can be determined in-house using standard validated analytical methods with Certified Reference Materials (CRMs). CRMs should be matrix matched (water, sediment, fish etc).

There are suppliers of CRMs worldwide and each CRM is certificated.

The compiled list is for mercury and related compounds, however the suppliers listed below produce an extensive range of CRMs for environmental pollutants.
