Long-term Consequences of Low-level Marine Contamination

Over recent years, much obvious and immediate damage to marine ecosystems, or their components, has occurred, due directly to waste discharge and physical changes to habitats. At the same time, the process of degradation attribute to human activities has, in many cases, been very slow, and when damages are recognized it may be too late to intervene.
