Resumé
Dr Selma Brynolf is a researcher at the Department of Mechanics and Maritime Sciences at Chalmers University of Technology at the unit of Maritime Environmental Sciences. Selma’s research is within the area of energy and environmental systems analysis with emphasis on the transport sector and especially shipping. The focus is on future marine fuels, global energy systems modelling, sustainability assessment of fuels, environmental impact from a life cycle perspective, assessment of electrofuels (fuels produced from carbon dioxide and water with the help of electricity) and solutions for zero emission shipping including battery-electric and hybrid propulsion and fuel cells.
She received her Master of Science in Industrial Ecology in 2009, her PhD degree involving environmental assessment of present and potential future marine fuels in 2014 and her Docent in Energy and Environmental Systems Analysis in 2023 all at Chalmers University of Technology.
