GESAMP Chair Wendy Watson-Wright provided an overview of the group's activities at the SCOR annual meeting on 31 October. Following the presentation, the SCOR Executive Director expressed an interest in the process for selecting members for GESAMP's Working Groups and a desire to be informed of future openings.
In a separate commitment to collaboration, ICES President Carl O’Brien expressed his desire to rekindle ICES' relationship with GESAMP. He indicated he would be happy to attend the GESAMP 53 session in 2026 as an observer, signalling a positive step towards strengthened ties between the two ocean science organizations.
