Our Mission
To coordinate, facilitate, and promote GESAMP’s contributions to the Ocean Decade, aligning marine science with sustainable development goals.
Responsibilities
1. Serving as the GESAMP-Ocean Decade Link

Acting as the primary contact for collaboration between GESAMP and Ocean Decade initiatives.
2. Strategic Engagement in Decade Challenges

Identifying GESAMP experts to participate in joint working groups.

Contributing to long-term tracking and refinement of Ocean Decade Challenges.
3. Mapping GESAMP’s Contributions

Maintaining a registry of GESAMP activities aligned with Decade Challenges & Outcomes.

Identifying key knowledge gaps in marine science.
4. Enhancing Communication & Outreach

Promoting Ocean Decade awareness within GESAMP and the broader scientific community.
5. Advising on Emerging Ocean Issues

Providing expert input to the Ocean Decade through GESAMP’s Executive Committee (ExCom).
6. Encouraging Expert Participation

Urging GESAMP members & experts to:

Register with the Ocean Decade Expert Roster.

Lead or engage in Decade Actions.
